Whites Should Remain Whites: Tips To Clean White Clothes

Finding that perfect white shirt is a challenge, but keeping it safe with you for a long time is even trickier since you need to protect it from all dangers and strong stains. Maintaining the garment’s vibrancy and stainlessness after weeks or months is tough, but not if you use these tricks. Here are some tips for cleaning white clothes from Dryclean experts.

Wash the fabric after one or two wears

Firstly, as Dhobilite Laundrywe advise you to wash your white shirt, t-shirt, or garment after one or two uses. It may sound absurd, and you might be asking, “my white shirt doesn’t have any stains, then why am I washing it?” However, there are invisible body soils, which upon sweating, can cause the color of your white garment to turn yellow or grey, a situation that you don’t want ever to occur.

Remove the stains as soon as possible

Whatever the case, stains are not part of your white shirt’s color. So remove these unwanted particles on sight. Stains such as coffee and ketchup are visible, but sweat is not visible. That’s when the first tip also comes into play here. To get rid of the stains effectively, follow these steps.

  • Rub a full-strength liquid enzyme detergent on the stains and underarm area thoroughly and gently.
  • Leave it for 15 minutes.
  • After the 15 minutes are over, wash it as you would normally.
  • Repeat steps 1 to 4 for any other stained white garment.

Select the detergent that contains bleach

Usually, experts would tell you to avoid bleach detergent on garments because it’s not a cleaner. You need to remove the dirt before using it, but it works just fine for white fabrics and helps make the white clothes whiter during each washing cycle.

Please note: Avoid using bluing detergent as it will make the cloth blue-white instead of the yellow-white you desire.

Separate the white and colored garments before washing

Color mixing looks good when making artwork, but it’s never acceptable for white garments. To avoid this, separate white clothes and colored clothes in two baskets before washing and use two different wash cycles for each load. You can also use a dye gabbing cloth while washing your whites to attract the loose pigment and prevent the color from settling.

Use hot water for white fabrics

It’s evident that the hotter the temperature, the more germs you will kill. Hot water can even remove the deadliest stains. However, it can also cause the white color to fade. To avoid this, check the recommended wash temperature on the care label.
